New job opportunity at CPP: Mechanical Engineer

Project: Crude Oil Pipeline Construction
CPP is hiring a qualified professional to support field engineering, construction, and commissioning activities for a multinational crude oil pipeline project in Tanzania.
Key responsibilities:
Troubleshoot technical issues in mechanical documentation and support site teams with on-the-ground technical services.
Communicate fluidly with CPY/EPS/CTR construction teams—collaboration is everything.
Analyze technical data, troubleshoot problems, and offer timely solutions for onsite mechanical works.
Handle design changes for AGI construction: gather documents, draft change files, liaise with the design team, and track site execution.
Report field issues and site conditions directly to the Field Engineering Representative and Engineering Manager.
Conduct regular training and technical exchange sessions to enhance field technicians’ capabilities.
Draft construction method statements and technical summaries; participate in site coordination meetings.
Assist with pre-commissioning, including data collection and system finalization.
Maintain accurate technical records and contribute to project close-out documentation.
Ensure all construction work aligns with mechanical specifications, international standards, and quality requirements.
Coordinate interface issues with piping, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
Support material verification, review of mechanical package installations, and vendor coordination.
Perform other duties as assigned by the engineering leadership team.
What we’re looking for:
Education & qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or above in Science & Technology / Engineering
Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
Experience:
10+ years in engineering, with at least 5+ years in mechanical engineering
Hands-on experience with international engineering or construction projects
Technical skills:
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Deep knowledge of mechanical codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO)
Familiarity with oil & gas/pipeline mechanical systems
Strong in design change management and field engineering support
Capable of reading mechanical drawings and vendor documents
Skilled with QA/QC procedures, pre-commissioning, and punch list management
Strong document control and coordination skills
Soft skills:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
Effective communicator within multicultural, multidisciplinary teams
Able to perform in challenging, remote field environments
